1v1 Duel Format
Touge Battles are strictly head-to-head races between two cars. Each duel tests your ability to stay smooth and consistent on winding mountain roads. There’s no chaos of big pack racing here—just you, your rival, and the apex of every corner.
Preset Mountain Routes
These battles take place across five iconic mountain passes inspired by real Japanese roads. Expect recreations of legendary routes like Mount Akina (Mt. Haruna) and Hakone Nanamagari, each full of sharp turns, blind corners, and elevation changes that demand focus.
Seamless Battle Initiation
You don’t need to navigate menus or load screens. In the open world, you can challenge random players or friends in a convoy directly. The system is fast, letting you jump into action instantly.
Solo Rival Encounters
Playing alone? You’ll find NPC rivals stationed at the start of these mountain routes. Each one offers a unique challenge, letting you practice your racing line, drifting, and technical skills before taking on real players online.
Online Championship Mode: Touge Showdown
For competitive multiplayer fans, Touge Showdown cycles through continuous 1v1 battles on the five preset routes. With leaderboards tracking performance, every clean apex and smooth drift counts toward climbing the ranks.
Drift-Focused Evaluation
While speed is important, the mode heavily rewards technical mastery:
Hitting the apex perfectly
Smooth transitions between corners
Maintaining proximity to the ideal racing line
Master these, and you’ll consistently outperform rivals even in a slightly slower car.
Integration and Progression
Touge Battles are independent of the main festival campaign, so you can access them almost immediately after unlocking the Horizon Festival (around an hour into gameplay).
Through the Horizon Play system, performing well in these duels grants exclusive car customization items, boosts your multiplayer progression, and earns community recognition.
There are no strict car class restrictions in many Touge events, giving you freedom to experiment with unusual builds, setups, or your favorite tuner cars.
Forza Horizon 6 launches May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a PlayStation 5 version expected later in the year. If you enjoy high-risk, precision-focused racing, Touge Battles are a must-try part of Japan’s open-world playground. |
