Pack Card Breakdown
When it comes to the actual pack math, you are guaranteed at least one Topps Now or Spotlight Series player. The odds are split 1:1 for hitting a 92+ Diamond, but you have a 1:4 chance of pulling one of the top-tier 94 OVR cards.
Here is how the five pack items shape up:
Aaron Ashby (RP, MIL - 94 OVR): This is easily the most anticipated card in the pack. High-end left-handed relief options are always premium real estate in Diamond Dynasty, and Ashby is already generating buzz as a top-tier Meta choice for the bullpen. He brings excellent Per-9 stats and a nasty pitch mix featuring a Sinker, 12-6 Curve, Slider, Circle Change, and a 4-Seamer. His control can be a little shaky, but if you can handle the accuracy or throw on a Parallel Mod, he is going to dominate on higher difficulties.
Daylen Lile (LF/CF, WSH - 94 OVR): Lile is a highly anticipated option for outfield depth. He brings great contact numbers and surprising pop when facing right-handed pitching, though he will struggle a bit against southpaws. He is fast enough to steal bags and plays a highly serviceably center field, making him a very well-rounded meta choice for the grass.
Henry Bolte (CF, ATH - 92 OVR): Bolte offers an incredibly balanced profile. His splits are solid against righties (88/76 contact) and get even better against lefties (92/87). With 85 speed and a maxed-out 99 stealing attribute, he is an immediate threat on the basepaths and a very solid depth option for the outfield.
Yohendrick Pinango (LF, TOR - 92 OVR): Pinango is purely a gap-to-gap hitting left fielder. He boasts great power numbers (102/86 vs R, 103/62 vs L) but lacks elite speed or arm strength. He might not be your everyday Ranked Seasons starter, but he is a fantastic budget option or bench bat for lower difficulty settings where that power can shine.
Rodolfo Duran (C, SD - 92 OVR): A highly budget-friendly backstop option. His defensive metrics are decent, but his elite Pop Time quirk makes him a genuine weapon for shutting down opponents who love to run. He can even lay down a clutch bunt if needed.
The Free Program Reward Hero
You do not need to pack luck to walk away from Drop 3 with an absolute monster for your lineup. The premier reward waiting at the end of the 50-point program path is Nick Kurtz (1B, ATH - 94 OVR), and he is a must-have.
Kurtz is a pure offensive juggernaut. We are talking 109 Contact R, 95 Power R, 96 Power L, a massive 110 Clutch, and an eye-popping 125 Discipline. His defense at first base is completely ordinary, but his raw hitting power completely makes up for it. In a meta where elite collection cards are hard to come by, Kurtz is a top-tier first baseman that anyone can earn for free.
Companion Program Rewards
Beyond Kurtz, the May Spotlight content update gives you three more ways to build your binder for free:
A.J. Ewing (CF, NYM - 92 OVR): Earned at 20 points on the main program track. Ewing is a speed demon (91 speed) with great contact splits and 81 fielding. If you do not start him, he is an automatic inclusion on your bench as a premier pinch-runner.
Brandon Sproat (SP, MIL - 91 OVR): Earned early on the track at 10 points. Sproat features a 99 Velocity rating and a beautiful repertoire that includes a Cutter, Sinker, 4-Seam, Sweeper, and Slurve. He also features Break Outlier. Like Ashby, his 71 Control is a bit low, but his movement makes him a fun rotation filler.
Jim Rice (LF, BOS - All-Star Series): He is not on the program track, but he is waiting for you as the featured map reward at the end of the concurrent May Flowers Conquest Map.
Quick Completion Tips
If you want to breeze through the program stars and stack up your stats efficiently, use this quick checklist:
Load the Lineup: Fill your entire roster with Topps Now and Spotlight Series cards before jumping into games.
The PXP Grind: Take that loaded lineup into offline modes—specifically the new May Flowers Conquest map. This lets you double-dip by knocking out the map rewards while easily accumulating the required 1,000 Parallel XP (PXP) for the program missions.
Bullpen Efficiency: Put a Spotlight or Topps Now reliever into your bullpen. You can knock out your regular game innings while simultaneously completing the standalone 12-strikeouts-with-relievers mission.
Grab Your Freebie: Don't forget to swing by the Show Shop to claim the free Memorial Day Pack. It includes a bonus bat skin and equipment items to help you easily progress through your equipment collections. |
